With a proud 20-year history, Arirang House is famous for its kimchi, which won a prize at the first Kimchi Festival. In 2003, the restaurant collaborated with Shilla Hotel and Paradise Hotel and successfully hosted a royal cuisine demonstration event, contributing to the promotion of Korean cuisine. Arirang House serves delicious Korean cuisine in an elegant style. The food is carefully prepared by 11 chefs, including the chef who has thirty years of experience. The kitchen is divided into the side dish team, the special dish team, and the main course team to prepare a total of thirty or so specialized dishes. The flavors are enhanced by using only the freshest natural ingredients and not using any artificial seasonings. Prices vary by course, and each course comes with raw beef, samhap (a combination of three special foods), assorted raw fish, and steamed short ribs. The bossam kimchi (kimchi with slices of steamed pork) is also one of their specialties.

Abierto en mayo de 1959, originalmente fue un mercado público municipal. Con el traslado de la terminal de autobuses y la estación de metro que estaban en las cercanías, la concurrencia menguó. Después de un período de decadencia, en 2008 se lo convirtió en un mercado de arte gracias al Proyecto Bukdeokbang. Los locales vacíos se llenaron de obras de arte y su apariencia cambió radicalmente.

La Estación de Gwangju es la principal estación ferroviaria de Gwangju, ciudad con gran vida cultural e industrial. Fue inaugurada en 1922, y en julio de 1969 se trasladó al lugar donde se encuentra actualmente. Por aquí también pasan trenes KTX, y es la estación terminal de los trenes que parten hacia Yongsan de Seúl, Mokpo, Daejeon y Suncheon. Gwangju es la única metrópolis de la zona suroeste de Corea, y aquí se realizan distintos festivales y eventos de fama internacional como el Festival Cultural del Kimchi, la Bienal de Gwangju, etc. Cerca de la estación se ubica el monte Mudeungsan, el cual está rodeado de famosos templos budistas como Jeungsimsa y Wonhyosa.

Even before the mad cow disease crisis, Yumyeong Hoegwan has only been serving locally-bred hanu beef. The fresh meat, sirloin, and prime ribs are delicious and they also use rice and kimchi made in Korea. The restaurant has a lot of business and group customers, but it is also good for family occasions, wedding receptions, and other social gatherings.

La Calle Geumnam-ro solía teter las oficinas centrales del Gobierno, y ahora es el centro de la esfera financiera de la ciudad, con muchos bancos, compañías de seguros y oficinas públicas alineadas en sus calles. Durante el Movimienro del 18 de Mayo, los ciudadanos se congregaron en la Calle Geumnam-ro y marcharon juntos expresando su tristeza por la situación de la nación a principios de los años 80 y expresaron su apoyo a un cambio. En los tiempos actuales, este lugar sigrve para el encuentro de la ciudadanos; pero además, se pueden hacer compras en un mercado subterráneo, asistir a eventos y participar de espectáculos libre que se realizan con asiduidad.
