El Festival de los Faroles de Loto de Busan es una tradición anual que ofrece a los visitantes la oportunidad de experimentar la cultura budista a través de diversas actividades. Para celebrar el Nacimiento de Buda, se exhiben linternas de loto de diferentes formas y tamaños. Templos, grupos y organizaciones religiosas preparan diversos programas como los de elaboración de las linternas de loto, ceremonias del té, comer comida de los templos, etc. Las actividades más importantes son la Gran Ceremonia Budista y el Desfile de Faroles de Loto, que atraen espectadores independientemente de su origen religioso.
