El arroyo Namdaecheon es un curso fluvial que casi parece un río. Nace en las áreas de Daegwallyeong y Sapdangnyeong, pasa por el distrito de Seongsan-myeon y desemboca en el Mar del Este (Donghae), en la zona de la ciudad de Gangneung. Frondosos bosques de pinos situados en las partes altas ofrecen una vista excepcional de la ciudad. Además, el arroyo proporciona agua potable para los habitantes y es utilizable para la agricultura de la zona.
