Dasi Book Shop abrió sus puertas por primera vez en la zona de Jongno, en pleno centro de Seúl, en el año 2014. Después de pasar por el barrio de Hannam-dong, finalmente se instaló en el distrito de Gangseo-gu. A diferencia de las grandes librerías, Dasi Book Shop es una pequeña empresa que se centra en conectar a los lectores con los libros mediante una cuidada selección y una colección de libros. Ofrece tanto libros usados como nuevos, y publicaciones independientes y ediciones limitadas difíciles de encontrar en las grandes librerías. También organiza programas culturales como grupos de lectura, charlas de autores y charlas sobre libros, contribuyendo así a la formación de una comunidad cultural local. Vende libros a través de canales en línea y de forma presencial, y ocasionalmente ofrece productos de producción propia y otros especialmente diseñados. Es un espacio abierto tanto a los residentes locales como a quienes estén interesados en las publicaciones independientes y en actividades culturales a pequeña escala.

It is located in a traditional Korean building built by Lee Il-gu, a master carpenter and Human Cultural Property who participated in the restoration of Gyeongbokgung Palace. With high ceilings, the whole building has a soothing smell of pine. It’s a popular place for business dining as well as the first meeting between the parents of soon-to-be bride and groom.
