La Calle Hanok de Ikseon-dong es la calle que conecta la salida 6 de la Estación de Jongno 3(sam)-ga con el hotel Ibis Ambassador Insadong. Esta calle, con edificios de estilo tradicional coreano hanok como ninguna otra en Seúl, se ha convertido en un sitio de visita obligada en los recorridos por la capital de Corea para visitantes nacionales e internacionales. Alberga muchos restaurantes, cafés y tiendas en edificios hanok renovados. En el pasado, este barrio estaba cerca de los palacios de la dinastía Joseon, por lo que era el hogar de dignatarios de alto rango, incluidos aristócratas prominentes. Debido a esto, hay muchas casas grandes con techos de tejas (giwajip), lo que le da a la calle un aspecto tradicional. Este museo se encuentra ubicado en la Calle Cultural de Samcheong-dong. Lee Gang-won, titular del museo, es poeta y ensayista. Durante 30 años ha recorrido 60 países y ha coleccionado alrededor de 3.000 joyas, de las cuales el museo exhibe, aproximadamente, un millar. No se tratan de joyas famosas y de alto costo, sino aquellas que poseen un valor especial por su historia.


El primer piso del museo está dividido en las siguientes salas: Sala del Ámbar, que muestra la textura de las eras antiguas del planeta; la Sala del Oro, que enloqueció a los europeos en el siglo XVI; la Sala de los Collares, decorados artísticamente; y la Sala de la Cruz. En el segundo piso, se encontrará con máscaras, anillos, etc., y las impresionantes salas del Marfil y Abalorios y de Joyas Modernas, entre otras.

La biblioteca fue fundada en el año 1977 en el antiguo Colegio Secundario Gyeonggi, ubicado en Bukchon de Jongno-gu, Seúl. Conserva aproximadamente 490.000 libros, 16.300 materiales no textuales, etc., y, en el edificio anexo podrá encontrarse con más de 12.000 materiales académicos. Su finalidad es contribuir en la educación y en el desarrollo cultural, ofreciendo información actualizada, fuentes de estudio y cultural a los ciudadanos de Seúl. La Residencia Baek In-je está situada en Gahoe-dong. Este edificio conserva el estilo moderno de hanok diseñado durante la colonización japonesa. En un terreno amplia de 2.460 ㎡, la vivienda cuenta con habitaciones y jardines alrededor del salón principal. También hay un pequeño espacio separado para el descanso. La casa mantiene la belleza tradicional del propio hanok con remodelaciones. Así, es una de las representaciones arquitectónicas más conocidas del barrio de Bukchon, junto con la Residencia Yoon Bo-seon.

Diversas características destacan la casa construida en pino negral, presentado por primera vez en Seúl durante la Exposición de Gyeongseong en 1907. Por ejemplo, la Residencia Baek In-je está compuesta por un pasillo que une el salón y las habitaciones, lo que es peculiar en comparación con el hanok clásico. Por otro lado, el pasillo al estilo japonés, la habitación con esteras, el empleo de ladrillos rojos y ventanas de cristal reflejan el paisaje de la época. Asimismo, el salón suele ser de un piso, pero está dividido en dos plantas en esta construcción. Siendo un patrimonio cultural, este lugar agrupa toda la hermosura de hanok, permitiendo contemplar del jardín al salón, del patio al interior de la casa y del trasero del inmueble separado.

En estas tumbas reales descansan los restos de Seongjong, el noveno rey de Joseon, y de la reina Jeonghyeon. También se encuentra la tumba correspondiente a Jungjong, el undécimo rey de Joseon. Seongjong fue el nieto del rey Sejo y segundo hijo de Deokjong (designado “Chujon”, término que se le atribuía a aquellos que fallecían antes de llegar al trono). Seongjong nació en el tercer año del reinado de Sejo (1457), y asumió el poder a los 13 años de edad (1469). Durante sus veinticinco años de reinado, se lograron grandes avances científicos. Falleció a los 38 años de edad (1494). La reina Jeonghyeon fue la hija de Buwongun Yunho, un funcionario de la corte de alto rango, y fue proclamada como reina en el undécimo año de reinado de Seongjong (1480). Falleció en 1530, en el vigesimoquinto año de reinado de Jungjong. Por otra parte, el rey Jungjong fue el segundo hijo de Seongjong, nacido en el decimonoveno año de reinado de Seongjong (1488). Llegó al trono en el año 1506 y falleció a los 57 años de edad (1544). A pesar de que las tumnbas encuentran ubicadas en el centro de la ciudad, presentan un ambiente tranquilo, ideal para las caminatas.

Get off the subway at Gyeongbokgung Station (Subway Line 3), follow the wall of the Gyeongbokgung Palace and you'll find yourself facing a street with majestic trees whose foliage changes every season. This street leads directly to Samcheong-dong. As you enter Samcheong-dong and walk towards the Samchong-dong Tunnel, you'll come across Samcheongdong Sujebi, located right next to the Prime Minister Legation.



Samcheongdong Sujebi became a hit among Japanese tourists, after being featured in a popular Japanese magazine. The main dish here is, of course, sujebi (a traditional Korean soup consisting of chunks of dough and various vegetables). It comes in a pot full of sliced pumpkin, clams, and potatoes. This delicious soup is so tasty that there's almost always people lined up outside the restaurant. Other popular items include dongdongju (traditional Korean liquor) and gamjajeon (a Korean potato pancake that uses only potato starch and no other ingredients).

En este museo se exponen aquellos objetos y muebles antiguos recolectados en el área de Bukchon, en Seúl. Fue inaugurado en el año 2003 y tiene en exposición objetos utilizados hace cientos de años y heredados por varias generaciones, pero que han caído en desuso tras la industrialización. Entre ellos se encuentran el maetdol (molino de piedra que se utilizaba para moler granos), el jangdok (tinaja para almacenar conservas como salsa de soja, pasta de pimiento rojo, etc.) y el yogang (urinal coreano), entre ellos.



Desde antaño, la zona de Bukchon, que incluye los barrios de Wonseo-dong y Samcheong-dong, fue un área de concentración y conservación de las casas tradicionales hanok. El secreto por el que dichas casas se mantienen hasta hoy en día se debe a su estilo arquitectónico tradicional, compuesto por un depósito, el suelo de las habitaciones cubierto de madera, la buhardilla, etc. Hasta la fecha, el museo conserva aproximadamente 20,000 piezas de la vida cotidiana, pero en exposición hay entre 300 y 400.
